FLUX 3 Max AI Video

A closer look at fal Research's post-trained FLUX 3 video model: what changed, what it can create, and how to direct a shot.

What makes FLUX 3 Max different?

Black Forest Labs built FLUX 3 as a multimodal foundation for visual creation across video, images, and audio. FLUX 3 Max starts from that video foundation. Working with Black Forest Labs, fal Research continued training the model and optimized the way it runs. fal describes the result as a model tuned for visual fidelity, coherent motion, and closer adherence to a prompt, while reducing generation time.

That makes Max a distinct release, not just a higher resolution switch or a new name for FLUX 3 Video. The official Max offering has separate text-to-video and image-to-video endpoints. The original FLUX 3 Video remains its own model, with a broader set of workflows including video continuation.

Why creators are watching FLUX 3 Max

Video work depends on more than one impressive frame. A shot has to hold together as the subject moves, the camera changes position, and sound follows the action. The Max release focuses on those practical qualities, alongside faster iteration.

Image To Video

Competitive visual quality

FLUX 3 Max appears among the leading models in Artificial Analysis's preliminary blind-preference image-to-video board. The closely grouped scores are a reason to test it on your own shots, not a promise that every output will win.

Iteration

Shorter waits between takes

fal reports that a 10-second, 720p clip took about 12.45 seconds in its launch comparison. That timing belongs to a specific benchmark setup; real requests can take longer.

Creative control

Motion from text or a frame

Start from a written scene or anchor the composition with an image. fal's image-to-video endpoint also accepts an optional ending image when the final frame matters.

Those are launch and benchmark observations, not guarantees for a particular prompt. A useful test is to run the same source image and motion direction several times, then inspect the parts that matter to your project: subject consistency, action timing, camera motion, and sound.

How to read the early quality and speed results

fal's launch page cites a preliminary Artificial Analysis image-to-video evaluation and a 10-second clip generated in about 12.45 seconds in its own timing comparison. The independent leaderboard checked on October 20, 2026 lists FLUX 3 Max at 1,138 ± 15 Elo, alongside Seedance 2.5 at 1,138 ± 17 and MiniMax H3 at 1,140 ± 16. Their confidence intervals overlap. The responsible reading is that Max is competitive with the leaders in that test, not that it has a proven quality advantage in every use case.

The timing comparison uses a specified 10-second, 16:9, 720p or 768p setup depending on the model. Queue time, resolution, prompt settings, and service load can change what an individual user sees. The image-to-video ranking also does not by itself establish the same ranking for text-to-video.

What can you make with FLUX 3 Max?

Invent a scene from text

Describe the setting, action, camera, light, and audio without supplying an image. This works for a first concept, an impossible scene, or a shot you cannot easily film.

Animate an existing image

Use a photograph, illustration, or generated frame to establish the opening composition. Then direct what moves, what stays still, and how the camera responds. An optional ending image can guide the finish.

Explore a shot in several takes

Change one instruction at a time: the pace of a camera push, the moment a subject turns, or the environmental sound. Faster generation can make this kind of focused iteration more practical.

fal's published endpoints list 5–20 second durations, 720p output by default, optional 1080p, several aspect ratios, and generated audio that can be switched off. These controls describe Max on fal; the Vismuse form above displays the settings of its currently selected FLUX 3 Video model.

A useful way to write a FLUX 3 Max prompt

fal's prompting guide recommends treating a video prompt as a short sequence, not a stack of style adjectives. For image-to-video, the uploaded image already establishes appearance, so spend the prompt on what happens after that first frame.

  1. Choose one camera behavior. A locked frame, slow push, or tracking move gives the shot a clear point of view.
  2. Write the main action in order. Use “then” or “as” to mark the beginning, change, and finish.
  3. Add secondary motion. Steam, fabric, rain, reflections, or background activity make the scene feel alive.
  4. Direct light and sound. Say whether the light changes, and name a few sounds the viewer should hear.
Original image-to-video prompt example

“One continuous shot, with a slow camera move toward the café window. The person at the table lifts a ceramic cup, pauses as a bicycle passes outside, then turns to watch the rain. Steam curls above the cup; droplets slide down the glass while the room behind remains still. Sound: a soft cup clink, rain on the window, a distant bicycle bell.”

For text-to-video, add enough visual context to establish the first frame before describing the motion. For an image-to-video shot, refer to subjects already visible in the source image and avoid asking the model to redesign them unnecessarily. The official FLUX 3 Max prompting guide offers more worked examples.

Create with FLUX 3 Video on Vismuse

Max is not currently selectable in this workbench. If you want to make a video here now, the form uses FLUX 3 Video: write a prompt, add optional ordered images or one MP4 source clip, and open Settings for duration, aspect ratio, and HD or FHD output. The generate button shows the Vismuse credit quote before submission.

Free-credit results carry a watermark, while paid-credit results follow the existing clean-media flow. Sign-in, subscription, and insufficient-credit prompts work like the other Vismuse video tools. Model availability and pricing are separate from fal's FLUX 3 Max offering.

FLUX 3 Max questions

What is FLUX 3 Max?

FLUX 3 Max is fal Research's post-trained video model, built with Black Forest Labs on the FLUX 3 foundation. It is a separate release from the original FLUX 3 Video model.

Who made FLUX 3 Max?

Black Forest Labs developed the FLUX 3 foundation. fal Research worked with Black Forest Labs on further training, inference optimization, and the serving system for FLUX 3 Max.

Can FLUX 3 Max generate from text and images?

Yes. fal publishes text-to-video and image-to-video endpoints. Image-to-video starts from an image and can optionally use an ending image to guide the final frame.

Does FLUX 3 Max generate sound?

Yes. fal's model documentation lists generated audio as enabled by default and optional to disable. Sound can be described directly in the prompt.

How long can a FLUX 3 Max video be?

fal's text-to-video and image-to-video documentation lists durations from 5 to 20 seconds, in one-second steps, with 720p output by default and an optional 1080p output setting.

Is FLUX 3 Max the top image-to-video model?

In the preliminary Artificial Analysis image-to-video evaluation checked on October 20, 2026, FLUX 3 Max was among the leading models. The displayed confidence intervals overlap, so the results do not establish a decisive lead over every competitor or predict every individual result.

Can I use FLUX 3 Max in the form on this page?

Not yet. The Vismuse form currently uses FLUX 3 Video, a related but different model. The selected model is shown in the form before you submit.

Will a video made here have a watermark?

Videos made on Vismuse with free credits have a watermark. Paid-credit videos follow Vismuse's existing clean-media flow.
